The Gold Coast
From Coolangatta/Tweed Heads in the south to Southport in the north.
High Rise, Glitz and Glamour is what you will find on this fantastic part of the Australian Coast. The Gold Coast known to locals as Surfers Paradise, has been a popular tourist holiday destination for Australians for as long as I can remember. I first visited the coast 25 years ago, (no age calculations please) and have seen this area grow with a zest for life that can be found no-where else on the coast. One hour's drive south from Brisbane is where you will fall into paradise. It's busy - with the addition of the theme parks, Dreamworld, Warner Bros. Movie World and Sea World , the popularity of the Coast has increased dramatically. You will find everything that a family could want on a holiday here. Fantastic beaches, (approximately 40 kilometres in all) lots of activities for the kids and a range of accommodation from the luxury to the backpackers, there is something for everyone on the Gold Coast, and for the gamblers at heart, Conrad's Casino is the place to be.
Gold Coast Activities
So many things to do that I will list them. Anyone seeking more information about one or several activities, including rates and operators, contact Tourism Review. and we'll get you sorted out.
Surfing, beach volley-ball, water-skiing, cable skiing, sail boarding, jet skiing, boating, fishing - river, lakes and ocean, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boating, diving - (some great dive sites), bungy jumping, hovercraft, para-sailing, sailing in general, yacht charter, cruises, loads of golf courses, bowls - both ten pin and lawn (some of the best greens in Australia), croquet, ultralite flying, joy flights, hot air ballooning, helicopter flights, horse-riding, horse racing, squash and tennis courts. gymnasiums, health spas, National parks, scenic drives, waterfalls, swimming holes, of course swimming, bike tracks, tours, tours, and more tours, animal parks, art Galleries and museums.
This should be enough for the most discerning of travellers.
Shopping that matches any city, any budget, and a climate to die for, the Gold Coast is the ideal destination. If you are looking for a romantic holiday for two or a family trip with the kids, the Gold Coast should not be overlooked.
The coast is not the only part to Surfers Paradise. A few miles inland you will find the Hinterland region, with a variety of accommodation and guest houses to start exploring the region from. This is a great stepping stone to the National parks which are great for hiking around and doing those national Park type things. For the Artsy, little art colonies are scattered all over the place with some of Australia's finest local artists.
Surfers Paradise, approached with the right (fun) attitude can be a successful vacation for the entire family. For information on anything on the coast, contact Tourism Review. and we will endeavour to help.
